On Friday I flew up to Colorado once again, to visit my lovely wife. For most of the weekend we just stayed at our new house and continued the never ending process of unpacking all of our crap, and realizing that most of it IS actually crap. Needless to say we have a few huge boxes that are going to Goodwill, and a growing pile of things to put on Craigslist. I am, however, sorry to report that I do not have any pictures of our house that I can post, because I left my memory card in Denver, yet again... Anyways, I'll try to post them after I get back from Chile.

On Saturday, Sarah, Bella and I headed over to Boulder Mountain Park, which is a huge piece of green space just west of Boulder that encompasses the Flat Iron Mountains. Since the last time I hiked there I got a ticket for having Bella off-leash, I decided to succumb to the leftist training that Boulder requires people to do in order to have their dogs run free. Well I watched the video and paid the money and now Bella can officially run off-leash in the town of Boulder.

Sarah and I decided to hike up Green Mountain as a conditioning exercise for Chile. The trail starts at around 5,300ft and you wind your way up to about 8,600ft at the peak. The first half of the trail was pretty easy going, but as we got higher the trail became snow-packed and icy. We have officially decided to plop down the $200 a piece for crampons so that we can hike with good traction. It just isn't worth the risk of falling on the ice, and since it's icy through June, it's probably a good investment. The going got slow and the weather cold, but we plodded along and made the summit.

The way back down didn't seem nearly as bad because the side of the mountain we descended got more sun and there was less ice and more slush. Overall we made it back to the car with minimal injuries and ended up doing around 6 miles total.

That night we headed downtown to meet up with a bunch of friends to watch the MSU basketball game. We ended up meeting each other at the Giggling Grizzly but headed to the Public House to watch MSU hand Pitt their butts.

Now I can't wait for this Friday for the next game. Unfortunately I'll be in Albuquerque, not Denver, but I'll head to the Alumni bar and enjoy the game with my fellow Spartans.
